About Hoops Northwest
A community youth basketball league built on fundamentals, sportsmanship, and love for the game.
Mission
Hoops Northwest is a Lynden-based youth basketball league serving boys and girls teams in grades 1-5 across Whatcom County. We provide a competitive, well-organized league where young players develop their skills, build character, make memories, and experience the joy of the game.
Founded and directed by Dave Dickson, Hoops Northwest focuses on fundamentals, fair play, and creating a positive environment for players, coaches, and families. Our games are held on Thursday and Friday nights in Lynden school gyms with an 8-game guarantee and an end-of-season tournament for the 3rd through 5th grade teams.

Meet Dave Dickson
Dave Dickson is the founder and director of Hoops Northwest. Since he made his first basket playing 4th grade youth basketball, Dave has loved his time in the gym as a player, coach, and gym rat. After 40+ years coaching high school basketball, Dave returns to his roots with the passion and experience to create a league where young athletes can learn, compete, and grow.
Dave handles league operations, scheduling, and registration directly. If you have questions about the league, registration, or payments, he's your guy.
